How Do I Listen To Podcasts?
The New Way - Subscribe to the XML feed:
If you already have iTunes, Juice / iPodder, or other podcast receiver software... all you have to do is copy and paste the XML feed URL into your podcast receiver software.
How to subscribe to a podcast in iTunes:
1. Pull down the "Advanced" menu.
2. Click "Subscribe to Podcast."
3. Paste in the URL from the XML feed.
How to subscribe to a podcast in Juice (formerly known as iPodder Lemon):
1. Pull down the "Tools" menu.
2. Click "Add a Feed."
3. Paste in the URL from the XML feed.
That's it!
If you don't have software for receiving podcasts...
Try iTunes. You can run iTunes on Windows (2000 or XP) as well as Mac OS X. You probably already have it on your system if you have Mac OS X anyway. If you don't have iTunes, you can download the latest version for free at www.iTunes.com. This is a good way to automate your podcast updates, and it's especially handy if you have an iPod, because you have the luxury of simply plugging in your iPod (at your convenience) and easily getting all the new podcast episodes with minimal effort.
If you don't want to use iTunes there are dozens of other alternatives. Juice is a free and open source podcast receiver program that will run on Windows 2000, XP, and Mac OS X 10.3 or later. If you don't even want to use Windows or Mac, you can run Juice on Linux, FreeBSD, and pretty much any unix based operating system that has the GNU libraries installed.
The Old Way - Download or play the audio files directly:
All of the podcast episodes on JesusForJews.org are available as direct downloads, so you can easily click and play them straight from the web site. If you want to save a podcast episode before you open it, just right click the link to download each episode (unless you're a Mac user with one mouse button that you hold down instead.) When the menu pops up, choose "Save Target As" (in Internet Explorer or Netscape) or "Save Link As" (in Firefox). Then you can pick a spot on your hard drive where you want to save the audio file and you can listen to it pretty much whenever you want. You need software such as Windows Media Player, iTunes, Quicktime, or Winamp to play the files, but if you bought your computer or installed your operating system in the last 4 years or so, you probably won't have to install anything new. If you choose this method, be sure to bookmark the podcast channel page, because the podcasts on JesusForJews.org are updated very frequently. In fact, there will continue be a new episode every day at least through this month.
